Early Learning Program

Early Learning Program

Play is a critical part of children's learning and development. Children have a structured day, filled with child lead play. Our Early Learning classrooms are set up in learning centers. These centers include art, blocks, books, cozy, dramatic play, home living, science, sensory, and writing. Learning centers are set up to offer a variety of activities and experiences based on the developmental need of the classroom. Thematic units rotate throughout the year to maintain interest and enhance the current classroom topic. Classrooms are set up for children with and without special needs.

Mission Statement

We believe that children thrive in a safe, loving and developmentally appropriate environment. Our goal is to provide a play-based, developmentally appropriate environment where typically developing children can learn and grow alongside children with special needs. We strive to offer high quality, in house, therapies to the children and families enrolled in CDS.

We believe

  • Play is extremely vital to health, physical, cognitive, social development and growth in children. Children develop knowledge of their world through active interactions with caregivers, peers, materials, and events. Learning proceeds at different rates in each child and within each area. All learning and progress should be recognized and celebrated. We believe in getting messy!

Classroom Management

All our classrooms methods are based using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods. Staff members are trained in ABA. Peer-mediated instruction will be taught. This involves teaching peers without disabilities ways of engaging children with special needs in positive and meaningful social interactions.
